Lonergan starred at Jones in 2011-12 under coach Chris Robinson and helped set the tone for future success in the program.

As a freshman in 2011, Lonergan helped the Bobcats qualify for both the MACCC and Region 23 fastpitch tournaments for the first time in school history and go 35-15 overall. She went 18-6 with a 1.75 ERA, had 164 strikeouts in 164.2 innings and pitched a perfect game.

Lonergan was selected as an NJCAA Third Team All-American after her freshman season, the first in fastpitch history at Jones and first since a Bobcat trio were slowpitch all-americans in 1996.

As a sophomore, Lonergan was an NJCAA First Team All-American and led the Bobcats to their first fastpitch conference championship, a Region 23 runner-up finish and the school's first appearance in the NJCAA Division II Fastpitch World Series.

She was 22-4 with 174 strikeouts in 170 innings and had a 1.15 earned run average. Jones went 44-11 and won twice in the national tournament.

Lonergan's 357 career strikeouts rank second all-time at Jones and her 1.35 ERA and 357.2 innings pitched are both third-most.

Lonergan was a standout athlete at Dominican High School in Gretna, Louisiana. After leaving Jones, she went on to play two years at Belhaven University.
