Hall of Fame
Greg Jefcoat played at West Jones High School before coming to JCJC.
He played offensive guard for the Bobcats in 1976-77 under head coach Sim Cooley and was a team captain, First Team All-American and First Team All-State performer. He helped Jones to an 8-2 record in 1976 and a 10-2 mark in 1977, the first team JC to win 10 games, and competed in the Junior Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
Jefcoat signed with Ole Miss and was a First Team All-SEC lineman for the Rebels in 1979. He was named the WCBH Radio Player of the Week for his performances vs. Southern Miss and Tulane as a senior. Jefcoat was the Clower-Walters Award recipient as the Outstanding Senior Football Player at Ole Miss following the 1979 season.
He signed a free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills in 1980.
Jefcoat served as a graduate assistant at Ole Miss and was an assistant coach at South Jones High School for two years before taking a position at East Central Community College. He then went to Itawamba where he served as Director of Admissions for many years. He was at ECCC and ICC from 1983-2011.
He received his doctorate from Ole Miss in 1991 and served as President of the Mississippi Association of College Registrars and Admissions Office (MACRAO) in 2002-03.
Jefcoat and his wife, Cathi, have two sons, Beau and Bret, and two grandsons, Spencer Jefcoat and Jeremiah Thomas Jefcoat.
