Dr. Amy Parker played basketball and softball at JCJC from 1994-96.

The Northeast Jones High School graduate was named All-Region 23 and All-MACJC in basketball and was All-Region 23 and honorable mention All-American in softball. She was selected to the JCJC Academic Hall of Fame in 1995-96.

She was a recipient of the first-ever National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Lea Plarski Award in 1996.

She was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Baptist Student Union, Student Government Association and the Science Fair Judging Team at JCJC. She was named Academic All-American and was named to Who’s Who Among American Junior Colleges.

Dr. Parker attended Blue Mountain College from 1996-98. She led the TranSouth Conference in assists, was named All-TranSouth Conference and finished 13th in the nation in free throw percentage. She graduated cum laude from Blue Mountain and was named to the National Dean’s List. 

She was named a National Scholar-Athlete by the NAIA and was accepted into the University of Mississippi and the Creighton University Physical Therapy program.

She attended the Creighton University Physical Therapy program in Omaha, Neb., and received her doctorate of physical therapy in 2001.

Dr. Parker is pursuing manual therapy certification and is considering becoming an orthopedic certified specialist.
