ELLISVILLE – Jones College posted a pair of come-from-behind victories over Baton Rouge here Friday afternoon at Community Bank Park.
Trailing 7-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning of game one, the Bobcats scored three in the seventh and four in the eighth to beat BRCC, 8-7. In game two, Jones was down 3-0 after four, but came back to win in walk-off fashion, 5-4, on a passed ball.
The Bobcats are now 14-2 and BRCC is 1-18. The same two teams will play a doubleheader in Baton Rouge at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The Bobcats scored three in the seventh to cut the lead to 7-4.
In the bottom of the eighth with one out,
Evan Rogers (Northwest Rankin) reached on an error and
Gatlin Sanders (Madison Central was hit by a pitch.
Brady Thomas (Brandon) then walked to load the bases. A wild pitch scored Rogers and
Beau Bryans (Madison Central) drew a walk.
Cole Manuel's (Clinton) sacrifice fly to right scored Sanders to make it 7-6.
Braden Smith (Brandon) walked and
Marquette Gibson (D'Iberville) followed with a two-run single to give the Bobcats the lead.
The Bears got a baserunner in the top of the ninth, but a 4-6-3 double play ended the game.
Colton Hegwood (Brandon) homered, tripled and singled for Jones. Rogers doubled and singled and Smith had two singles. Sanders had a double with Thomas, Bryans, Manuel and Gibson adding singles.
Charlee Strickland (Northeast Jones) pitched 2.0 innings in relief and got the win. He gave up a run, two hits and struck out two. Thomas pitched the final inning, got a strikeout and earned his second save. Starter
Trent Hillen (Morgan City, Louisiana) went 6.0 innings, allowed six runs, six hits, walked three and struck out five.
Jones 5, Baton Rouge 4
Just like the opener, Jones rallied late.
In the bottom of the seventh with the game tied 4-4,
Hays Carley (Columbia Academy) led off with a pinch-hit double down the left-field line and was replaced by pinch-runner
Austin Mills (Lafayette, Louisiana). After Hegwood was intentionally walked, Rogers was hit by a pitch to load the bases with no outs. Mills then scored the winning run on a passed ball.
Starter
Eli Walker (Gulfport) went 6.1 innings, allowed four runs (three earned), five hits, walked three and struck out eight.
Connor Brooks (Northwest Rankin) got the final two outs in the top of the seventh and was credited with the win.
Sanders singled twice for Jones with Rogers, Gibson and Carley getting doubles. Randal Futral (Starkville Academy) had a single.
