JACKSON – Jones College's Trevor Hodges has been named the MACCC Pitcher of the Week.
 
Hodges, a freshman right-hander from Watson, La., made two relief appearances last week against ranked opponents No. 25 Mississippi Gulf Coast and No. 23 Shelton State.

He pitched 8.1 innings of one-hit ball with 11 strikeouts and no walks to help the Bobcats to a pair of wins.
 
Hodges, who transferred to Jones from Mississippi College, pitched 5.0 innings, allowed no hits, no walks, no base runners and struck out seven in a 7-3 win over Gulf Coast. He pitched 3.1 innings, allowed one hit, walked none and struck out four in a 5-4 victory over Shelton State.

For the season, Hodges is 2-0 with two saves, a 1.88 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 24 innings of work.

Jones hosts Holmes and Itawamba in single, seven-inning games on Tuesday at The Bank.
