JACKSON – Five Jones College Bobcats have been named to the 2026 All-MACCC Baseball Team.
Trevor Hodges has been voted the conference's Pitcher of the Year as well as First Team All-MACCC.
Chase Russell,
Colton Smith and
Dylan Champagne were named to the Second Team and
Sanders Ainsworth made Honorable Mention.
A transfer freshman right-hander from Mississippi College by way of Watson, La., Hodges enjoyed a banner season going 10-1 with six saves and a 1.55 ERA. In 64 innings pitched, Hodges allowed just 11 earned runs, struck out 77 and walked 12. Opponents had a .192 batting average against him.
Russell, a sophomore from Madison Central, was a solid, two-way player for Jones. He batted .371 with a team-leading 15 home runs, 14 doubles, 63 runs scored, a team-best .701 slugging percentage and tied for the team lead with 70 RBIs. He was also 4-2 on the mound with a save in 47.2 innings pitched.
Smith, a sophomore right-hander from Bossier City, La., was the No. 1 starter for the Bobcats. He went 11-3 with five complete games, a 3.29 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 109.1 innings pitched. He won all three of his postseason starts in the Poplarville Regional, Ellisville Super Regional and NJCAA Division II World Series.
Champagne, a freshman infielder from Prairieville, La., led the Bobcats in batting average (.384), hits (78) and doubles (21) and drove in 43. He was also 11-of-13 in stolen bases and had a .956 fielding percentage across shortstop, third base and behind the plate.
Ainsworth, a freshman infielder from Madison Central, batted .360 with 11 home runs and tied Russell with a team-leading 70 RBIs. He had 73 base hits with 11 doubles and had a .606 slugging percentage.
These players helped the Bobcats to a 41-18 record, an NJCAA Region 23 championship and the school's first World Series appearance since 2016.
The All-MACCC Teams were chosen by the league's head coaches and no ties were broken.
