PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Two former Jones College Bobcats heard their names called during this year's 2026 Major League Baseball Draft.

Pitcher Beau Bryans was selected in the 7th Round by the San Francisco Giants, the third-highest draft choice to come through Jones in program history, and infielder/pitcher Brady Thomas was taken by the Houston Astros in the 14th Round.

Both played their senior seasons at Jacksonville State, helping the Gamecocks to a school-record 48 wins, their first-ever Conference USA Baseball Tournament Championship and to the Hattiesburg Regional Final.

Bryans was 7-1 last season with a 3.66 ERA in 15 starts, striking out 78 over 66.1 innings pitched and allowing just 13 extra-base hits.

He transferred to Jax State from Alabama, where he was used as a situational reliever for the Crimson Tide during the 2025 season.

Bryans had two, all-conference seasons for the Bobcats where he was a two-way player. He appeared in 28 games on the bump, going 8-2 with a 3.67 ERA with 133 strikeouts. At the plate, he posted a .319 average with 12 doubles, eight home runs, 57 RBIs and 51 runs scored.

Thomas was a two-way player for Jax State, hitting .302 over 103 career games with 22 doubles, four triples, 16 home runs and 67 RBIs. He was 3-1 on the mound in 15 appearances, striking out 32 in 25.1 innings.

He boosted his average 60 points from his junior to senior season, hitting .329 last year with 13 doubles, 11 homers and 43 RBIs.

Thomas started his collegiate career at Meridian and played the 2024 season for the Bobcats where he was All-MACCC, NJCAA All-Region 23 and an NJCAA Second Team All-American. He appeared in 57 games, collecting seven saves in 18.1 innings of work on the mound and hitting .377 with 14 doubles, four triples and 16 home runs with a 1.284 OPS. 

It's the first time two former Bobcats have been taken in the same MLB Draft and gives Jones 13 all-time draft choices.
