BILOXI – Jones College finished fifth in the Tommy Snell Invitational here Thursday at Sunkist Country Club.
The Bobcats posted a 292-298-299 – 889, 49-over par in the 54-hole event. The tournament consisted of 36 holes on Wednesday and 18 on Thursday.
Freshman
Julius Hautmann (Germany) led the Bobcats with a 70-72-76 – 218 and tied for 11th place. Freshman
Bastian Graf (Germany) shot a 75-74-72 – 221 and sophomore
Drew Groscost (Lewisburg) posted a 75-75-76 – 226. Sophomore
Josh Tombs (England) had a 72-80-75 – 227 and freshman
Evan Bass (Hattiesburg) had a 78-77-72 – 227, playing as an individual. Sophomore
Walker Hall (Wayne Academy) fired a 79-77-76 – 232 and freshman
Matthew Eubank (Petal) had a 92-79-88 – 259, playing as an individual.
Meridian won the championship with an 859, 19-over par. That was three strokes better than Mississippi Gulf Coast, who shot an 862. Pearl River was third at 883 and East Central was fourth in the 13-team event with an 885.
Northeast's Olof Behle was tournament medalist with a 68-73-70 – 211, 1-over par. Stephen Faucheaux of Hinds was second with a 213. Meridian's Daniel Young, Dax Reaux and Jace Ducksworth, along with East Mississippi's Pelayo Castillo Alonso, tied for third with a 214.
The next tournament will be the Chris Clark Invitational March 2-3 at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club in Philadelphia.
