JC Jamboree to feature all four Jones County football teams

Inaugural event set for Friday, Aug. 22 beginning at 2 p.m.

ELLISVILLE – Four Jones County high school football teams will converge at Bobcat Stadium/Sim Cooley Field on Friday, August 22 for the inaugural JC Jamboree.

The first-year event is sponsored by Jones County State Farm agents.

"We are excited to be hosting this JC Jamboree for the very first time," athletic director Chris Robinson said. "This is a great opportunity for us to connect with so many students, not just student-athletes. Hopefully this is an event we can continue to host for years to come."

South Jones, West Jones, Northeast Jones and Laurel will each host games beginning at 2 p.m. on the Jones College campus.

"We're really excited about the opportunity to have all the county schools playing in a preseason jamboree at Jones," West Jones head coach Cory Reynolds said. "It will be a great atmosphere for our band, cheerleaders and football team and will create a huge buzz to kick off the 2025 school year. We're hoping to see the stadium packed for all these games."

Joining the four Jones County high schools will be in-district school Seminary as well as Petal, Sumrall and Lawrence County.

Tickets are available for $10 through jcbobcats.com/tickets and good for all four games of the day.

A concession stand will be open and local vendors will be selling ice cream, lemonade, dirty sodas and snow cones.

"We think this is going to be a great experience for everyone involved," South Jones head coach Casey Herrington said. "There will be a lot of really good players on Jones' campus that day. We are just glad to be partnering with Jones to provide this event and thankful for the ones like Chris (Robinson) who have put this together."
