TUNICA – History was made Wednesday here at Tunica National Golf Club.
Jones College finished third in the NJCAA Gulf District Championship and qualified for the NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship for the first time ever as a team.

Sebastian Nowak (Germany) claimed tournament medalist honors.
The Bobcats posted a 292-291-301 – 884 (+20) in the 54-hole tournament. Mississippi Gulf Coast won the event with a 284-286-295 – 865 (+1) and Meridian was second with a 299-294-290 – 883 (+19). There were seven teams in the tournament.
The top three teams will compete in the national tournament May 20-23 at Swan Lake Golf Club in Plymouth, Ind.
Nowak shot rounds of 70-70-69 – 209, 7-under par to lead the All-Tournament Team. That was two shots better than MGCCC's John Mark Mills, who finished second with a 211, 5-under par.
Bobcat freshman
Drew Groscost (Lewisburg) shot a 69-75-77 – 221 to finish in a tie for 10th. Sophomore
Jacob Creel (South Jones) fired a 77-71-78 – 226, freshman
Josh Tombs (England) posted a 76-75-78 – 229 and sophomore
Connor Phillips (East Central) had an 82-76-77 – 235.
