MERIDIAN – No. 10 Jones College posted a fourth-place finish in the Lou Hart Invitational here Tuesday afternoon at Northwood Country Club.
Jones posted rounds of 297-302 to finish with a 599 in the 12-team MACCC event. Mississippi Gulf Coast won the tournament with a 285-284 – 569. Host Meridian was second with a 295-291 – 586 and East Central was third with a 300-297 – 597.
The Bobcats were led by sophomore
Sebastian Nowak (Germany) who fired a 71-73 – 144, 2-over par, which tied him for fifth place with MGCCC's Harlan Yeagar. Meridian's Jace Ducksworth was tournament medalist with a 70-67 – 137, 5-under par. MGCCC's Stanley Campbell was second with a 71-67 – 138, 4-under par.
Bobcat
Connor Phillips (East Central) shot a 74-75 – 149.
Harvey Taylor (England) posted a 76-77 – 153, along with teammate
Josh Tombs (England) who also shot a 76-77 – 153.
Drew Groscost (Lewisburg) fashioned an 80-77 – 157 and
Walker Hall (Wayne Academy) fired a 79-87 – 166.
The Lou Hart Invitational was the final regular season event.
Next up will be the MACCC Championship April 7-8 at Shiloh Ridge Golf and Fitness in Corinth.
