Bobcats finish sixth in first spring MACCC golf tournament

SAUCIER – Jones College finished sixth in the first MACCC spring golf tournament.
 
The 36-hole Mississippi Gulf Coast Community Bulldog Invitational took place Monday-Tuesday at Grand Bear Golf Club.
 
The Bobcats were consistent in both rounds firing a 309-310 – 619 in the 14-team event. The host Bulldogs won it with a 285-291 – 576. Meridian was second with a 295-305 – 600 and Northeast finished third with a 310-298 –608.
 
Drew Groscost (Lewisburg) led Jones with a 76-74 – 150, which tied him for 12th overall. Sebastian Nowak (Germany) shot a 77-75 – 152 and Joshua Tombs (England) had a 75-82 – 157. Jacob Creel (South Jones) posted an 81-78 – 159 and Harvey Taylor (England) shot an 81-83 – 164. Walker Hall (Wayne Academy) had an 87-82 – 175. 
 
MGCCC's John Mark Mills and Stanley Campbell were co-medalists at 1-under par. Mills shot 75-68 – 143 and Campbell had a 68-75 – 143. MGCCC's Garner Seymour was third with a 69-75 – 144. 
 
The next MACCC event will be East Central's Chris Hart Invitational March 3-4 at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club.
