GULFPORT – Jones College concluded the fall portion of the 2024-25 schedule with a ninth-place finish in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Fall Invitational on Tuesday.
The Bobcats posted rounds of 306-311-307 – 924 to tie Hinds for ninth place. Jones was fourth among MACCC teams in the event.
The 54-hole, 17-team event was played over two days at Windance Country Club – 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Top-ranked MGCCC won the tournament with an 862. No. 5 Central Alabama was second with an 874 and No. 3 Murray State (Oklahoma) was third with an 893.
Sebastian Nowak, a sophomore from Germany, led the Bobcats with a 77-77-71 – 225.
Drew Groscost, a Lewisburg freshman, shot a 76-75-80 – 231 and
Harvey Taylor, a freshman from England, posted 78-76-80 – 234.
Connor Phillips, a sophomore from East Central, shot a 75-84-76 – 235 and
Walker Hall, a Wayne Academy freshman, posted a 94-83-83 – 260.
MGCCC's John Mark Mills was medalist with a 73-70-67 – 210 (6-under) and his teammate, Stanley Campbell, was second with a 75-71-69 – 215.
The next scheduled MACCC event will be the East Central Classic on March 3-4 at Meridian's Northwood Country Club.
