Box Score 2 MERIDIAN – No. 6 Jones College picked up its second lopsided doubleheader sweep in four days on Monday in a pair of 22-0 and 15-2 run-rule victories at Meridian.
The Bobcats improved to 15-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play, outscoring their opponents 77-2 over the last four games.
NIa Luckett (2-2) tossed a no-hitter in the opener, allowing just one baserunner on a walk with eight strikeouts.
Ten different Bobcats combined for 20 hits in the 22-0 blanking, with
Meagan Wynne going 4-for-5 and
McKinley Weeks going 2-for-2 with two grand slams and eight RBIs.
Kristian Edwards hit her seventh home run of the year and
Tyesha Cole was 3-for-3 in the leadoff spot with two doubles and a triple to lift JC to another run-rule in the nightcap.
Sterling James (6-0) stayed unbeaten in the circle, scattering four hits, two runs and nine strikeouts in five innings.
The Bobcats continue an eight-game road swing on Wednesday at East Central.
