No. 4 Bobcats ousted from Region 23 Tournament

FULTON – The 4th-ranked Jones College Bobcats saw its season end here Thursday afternoon in the Region 23 Tournament at Roy Cresap Field.
Mississippi Gulf Coast belted three home runs and the Bobcats committed five errors in an 8-0, eight-inning Bulldog win.
Jones ends the season at 37-12.
MGCCC, 29-17, will advance and play at noon on Friday.
The Bulldogs set the tone quickly when Ike Williams led off the game with a home run.
Alden Davis blasted a solo home run in the third to make it 2-0.
In the sixth inning, Williams walked, Miller Hancock singled and Brandon Parker walked to load the bases. With two outs, Cullen O'Shea belted a grand slam to right to put MGCCC up, 6-0.
The Bulldogs ended the scoring in the eighth. Williams struck out to start the inning, but reached on an error. Parker delivered a two-out RBI double to left-center and O'Shea followed with an RBI single. 
The Bobcats' best scoring threat came in the seventh when Robbie Woody (Madison Central) walked and Baliee Hendon (Vancleave) singled to center to start the inning. But a pop up, a runner thrown out trying to advance and a flyout ended the inning.
Jones was limited to three hits on the day with Hendon, Trace Henry (Mooreville) and Brandon Hale (Pontotoc) getting singles.
Starter Coleton Ausbern (Nettleton) went 4.0 innings and took his first loss of the season. He allowed two runs, five hits, walked one and struck out six. Ausbern ends the year at 8-1. 
Cooper Brune (Ocean Springs) went 3.2 innings, giving up six runs (four earned), four hits and three walks. He finished with five strikeouts. DJ Alexander (Gretna, Louisiana) pitched to one batter and gave up a hit. Brady Greene (Montgomery, Alabama) got the final out. He allowed no runs, one walk and had a strikeout.
Dawson Hall, 9-1, went the distance for the Bulldogs and got the win. He gave up no runs, three hits, walked one and struck out six.
O'Shea homered, singled twice and drove in five runs. Williams homered and doubled. Parker had a double with Hancock, Davis, Ray and Estill adding singles.
