MOORHEAD – The 12
th-ranked Jones College Bobcats won a pair of games over the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans here Friday afternoon at the Jimmy Bellipanni Baseball Complex
The Bobcats won the opener 8-6 and took the nightcap, 11-3.
Jones, 25-7 overall and 10-6 in the MACJC, hosts Copiah-Lincoln in a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday.
MDCC, 13-19 overall and 5-13 in the league, hosts Holmes on Tuesday.

A five-run, second inning – capped by a two-run home run from
Robbie Woody (Madison Central) – proved to be critical in the opener.
Woody ended the game with a home run, two singles and three RBIs.
Brandon Hale (Pontotoc) homered and singled and
Trace Henry (Mooreville) and
Chase Tilghman (West Lauderdale) each doubled and singled.
Blake Johnson (Gulfport) and
Gabe Lacy (Gulfport) added doubles.
Starter
Coleton Ausbern (Nettleton) went 7.0 innings and got the win, moving his record to 6-0. He allowed six runs (five earned), 10 hits, walked two and struck out three. DJ Alexander (Gretna, Louisiana) went .2 innings, allowed one hit, one walk and struck out one. Johnson pitched 1.1 innings and notched his fourth save. He gave up no runs, one hit, walked one and struck out three.
Drew Pounders doubled and singled twice for the Trojans.
Starter Devontae Rhodes, the first of four MDCC pitchers, went 2.0 innings and got the loss.
The Bobcats led 5-1 after two innings, 5-2 after five, 5-3 after six, 7-3 after seven and 7-6 after eight.

Jones jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning and never looked back.
Lacy had three singles with Henry and Johnson getting two singles each. Hale,
Bailee Hendon (Vancleave),
O'Neill Burgos (Brookhaven Academy) and
Cooper Brune (Ocean Springs) each had a single.
Johnson had three RBIs with Burgos and
Steven Sasser (South Jones) each driving in two runs.

Brady Greene (Montgomery, Alabama) went 5.0 innings and posted the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up three runs (one earned), five hits, walked none and struck out seven.
Hunter Eldridge (West Lauderdale) pitched an inning, allowed no hits and had two strikeouts.
Payton Harris (Oak Grove) tossed the final inning, allowed no hits and struck out one.
Rhodes doubled and singled for the Trojans.
Starter Chance Guthrie only pitched .1 inning and got the loss.
The Bobcats led 5-2 after one inning, 6-2 after two, 6-3 after three, 9-3 after four and 11-3 after five.
