ELLISVILLE – Second-ranked Jones College had a tough day on the diamond here Saturday afternoon at Community Bank Park.
Kyle Crigger's sixth inning grand slam sparked No. 10 Itawamba to a 9-4 victory in game one. In the nightcap, two ICC pitchers combined to shutout the Bobcats, 7-0.
Jones, 21-5 overall and 6-4 in the MACJC, visits East Central for a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday.
Itawamba, 21-4-1 and 8-2, goes to Southwest Tennessee on Tuesday.

Jones struck first in the bottom of the first when
Trace Henry (Mooreville) led off with a single, stole second and scored on a single by
Robbie Woody (Madison Central).
The Indians came back to take a 2-1 lead in the second. LaBryant Siddell led off with a single, Russell Bunch reached on an error and Jacob Hall drove in a run with a single. Austin Powell reached on an error, which allowed Bunch to score.
The game was then stopped because of rain and resumed 12 minutes later.
The Bobcats tied it at 2-2 in the bottom of the second when
Brandon Hale (Pontotoc) led off with a walk,
Bailee Hendon (Vancleave) singled,
Jake Mason (West Lauderdale) reached on a fielder's choice and
Gabe Lacy (Gulfport) drove in the run with a sacrifice fly to center.
Jones regained the lead in the third when Henry walked, was balked to second and scored on Woody's double to left.
Itawamba took the lead for good in the sixth when Hall walked, Powell singled and Brett Coker singled to load the bases. Crigger then hit a grand slam over the leftfield wall to give ICC a 6-3 lead.
The Indians made it 7-3 in the seventh when Siddell reached on an infield single, Bunch singled and Powell followed with an RBI single.
In the top of the eighth, Coker led off with a double and scored on a double by Crigger. Justin Medlin's fielder's choice scored Coker to make it 9-3.
In the bottom of the eighth, Hale and Hendon led off with singles and Mason reached on a fielder's choice. After a flyout, pinchhitter
Kirkland Trahan (Madison Central) singled to load the bases. Henry followed with a walk to force Hendon home, but a groundout ended the inning.
Woody had two singles and a double for Jones with Hale and Hendon each getting a pair of singles.
Blake Johnson had a double and Henry and Trahan both singled.
Starter
Lane Thomas (Walker, Louisiana) went 5.2 innings and got the loss. He gave up six runs (four earned), eight hits, walked two and struck out five. He is now 5-1 on the season. DJ Alexander (Gretna, Louisiana) pitched 1.2 innings, allowed three runs, six hits, walked none and struck out two.
Payton Harris (Oak Grove) pitched 1.2 innings, allowed no runs, one hit and walked one.
Crigger homered, doubled and drove in five runs for ICC. Siddell had three singles and Coker and Lane Domino each doubled and singled. Lancaster had two singles with Bunch and Hall adding singles.
Starter Houston Harding went seven innings and got the win. The Mississippi State University signee allowed three runs, six hits, walked five and struck out four. Crigger tossed the final two innings, giving up a run, four hits and two walks.

Austin King and Daniel Rowland combined on the shutout and ICC turned three double plays in game two.
Itawamba took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first when Lancaster doubled and Medlin hit a two-out, two-run home run over the rightfield wall.
In the third, Ray Sandroni doubled to right-center and scored on a double to left by Crigger. Lancaster singled and Siddell followed with an RBI single to make it 4-0.
Itawamba made it 6-0 in the fourth. Coker led off with a double and Sandroni reached on a bunt single. Crigger's fielder's choice groundout drove in a run and Lancaster reached on an error, which scored another run.
ICC scored the final run in the fifth when Coker drew a bases-loaded walk.
Lacy doubled and singled for Jones with Hale getting a double. Woody,
O'Neill Burgos (Brookhaven Academy), Hendon and
Easton Rainer (Clarkdale) added singles.
Starter
Brady Greene (Montgomery, Alabama) went two-plus innings and got the loss, moving his record to 3-1 on the season. He gave up four runs, six hits, walked none and struck out three.
Coleton Ausbern (Nettleton) pitched 2.0 innings, allowed three runs (two earned), two hits, walked none and struck out one.
Hunter Eldridge (West Lauderdale) pitched two innings, allowed no runs, one hit, walked one and struck out two. Johnson tossed an inning, getting a strikeout and walking one.
King went 5.1 innings and got the win. He gave up no runs, five hits, walked one and struck out two. Rowland went the final 1.2 innings, allowing no runs and two hits.
Medlin homered and doubled with Lancaster getting a double and a single. Crigger, Coker and Sandroni had doubles with Siddell and Hayden Palmer adding singles.
