Brown drives in five runs to lead No. 10 Bobcats past Co-Lin

WESSON – R.J. Brown (Columbus, Georgia) drove in five runs to lead No. 10 Jones County to a 12-2, five-inning victory over Copiah-Lincoln here Tuesday afternoon.
Brown doubled, singled twice and had five RBIs, while Luther Woullard (D'Iberville) tripled, doubled and singled.
Brandon Hale (Pontotoc) doubled and singled, while Trace Henry (Mooreville) and Jake Mason (West Lauderdale) both doubled. Tate Pepper (Ocean Springs) singled and had two RBIs.
Will Freeman (Semmes, Alabama) pitched all five innings to get the win. Freeman, 5-1, allowed two runs (one earned), three hits, walked none and struck out five.
Austin Tidwell doubled for the Wolves with Austin O'Flynn and Ryan Zimmerman adding singles.
Tidwell, the first of four Co-Lin pitchers, went three-plus innings and took the loss.
The Bobcats led 1-0 after two innings, 7-0 after three and 11-2 after four.
The Bobcats are now 24-7 overall, 11-4 in the MACJC.
Co-Lin drops to 15-11 and 4-9.
