Tigers score four in the seventh to edge No. 9 Jones, 11-10

ELLISVILLE –  Northeast Mississippi scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning and edged No. 9 Jones County, 11-10, here Friday afternoon in game two of a doubleheader at Community Bank Park.
JCJC won game one, 13-3 in five innings.
The Bobcats led 10-7 going into the top of the seventh.
Northeast's Tucker Childers led off the inning by being hit by a pitch. Tyler Samaniego reached on an error and Colt Chrestman reached on an infield single to load the bases. Anthony Lipsey singled to left to drive in Childers and make it 10-8.
Samaniego scored on a wild pitch and a ground out by Thomas Stevens scored Chrestman to tie the game at 10-10.
After Caleb Todd was hit by a pitch, Conner Boyer's sacrifice fly to center drove in Lipsey to give the Tigers the lead. Todd was out trying to advance to second after the run scored.
JCJC had its chances in the bottom of the seventh.
Stephen Matthews (Tupelo) led off with a walk and R.J. Brown (Columbus, Georgia) reached on a bunt single to give Jones runners at first and second with no outs. Trace Henry's (Mooreville)bunt was popped up and caught by pitcher Cooper Cox, who doubled off Matthews at second. Robbie Woody (Madison Central) then reached on an infield single to put runners at first and second with two outs.
But Luther Woullard's (D'Iberville) fly ball to left ended the game.
The Tigers had taken a 3-0 lead in the top of the first when Parker Haberstroh reached on an error, Samaniego singled and Chrestman hit a three-run home run to left.
But the Bobcats tied it a 3-3 in the bottom of the first.
Woody was hit by a pitch, Jake Mason (West Lauderdale) walked, Luke Hudson (Presbyterian Christian School) was hit by a pitch and Brandon Hale (Pontotoc) walked to score Woody. Hudson Harris (West Jones) followed with a two-run single to score Mason and Hudson.
JCJC took a 6-3 lead in the second.
Brown was hit by a pitch and Henry doubled. Woody's ground out to short scored Brown and Woullard followed with an RBI double. Woullard stole third and scored on Mason's sacrifice fly to left.
The Tigers got a run in the third when Jacob Wilcher singled, stole second, went to third on a passed ball and scored on Samaniego's single.
In the fourth, Stevens and Todd walked and Boyer sacrificed and reach on an error. Haberstroh's fielder's choice to short scored Stevens.
JCJC made it 7-5 in the bottom of the fourth when Brown was hit by a pitch, stole second, was sacrificed to third by Henry and scored on Woody's single.
The Bobcats made it 9-5 in the fifth when Hudson struck out, but reached on a wild pitch, and Harris blasted a two-run home run over the leftfield wall.
In the top of the sixth, Stevens walked and Todd hit a two-run home run to left.
Jones scored a run in the bottom of the sixth when Miguel Morgan (South Jones) doubled to right-center, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Hale.
Harris homered, singled and drove in four runs for the Bobcats. Woody had two singles, while Henry, Morgan and Woullard doubled. Hale and Brown had singles.
Jay Simpson (Presbyterian Christian School) started, went 3-plus innings, allowed five runs (two earned), six hits, walked two and struck out one. Bryce Fagan (Petal) went three innings, allowed two runs, two hits, walked one and struck out three. Will Hicks (Germantown) faced four batters, did not record an out and took the loss. Hicks, 0-2, gave up four runs (two earned), two hits and hit one. Will Freeman (Semmes, Alabama) tossed the final inning and did not give up a hit.
Chrestman homered, doubled and singled twice for the Tigers. Samaniego singled twice, Todd homered and Wilcher, Lipsey and Stevens added singles.
Dylan Gatlin pitched .1 of an inning and got the win, striking out one and walking one. Cox pitched the final inning and got the save, allowing two hits. Starter Tanner Smith went 4.2 innings, allowed nine runs (eight earned), five hits, walked three, hit four and struck out three. Ty James pitched an inning, giving up one run, two hits and walked one.
JCJC is now 19-7 overall and 6-4 in the MACJC. The Bobcats will host Southwest at 3/6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Northeast, 14-11 overall and 5-5 in the conference, goes to Itawamba on Wednesday.
