Top-ranked Bobcats blank Indians, 10-0

ELLISVILLE – Logan Robbins (George County) tossed a two-hitter to help No. 1 Jones County Junior College to a 10-0, five-inning victory over No. 7 Itawamba Community College in game two of a doubleheader here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Community Bank Park.
JCJC took game one, 12-7.
Jones is now 31-1 overall and leads the MACJC at 13-1. Itawamba drops to 21-7 overall and 8-4 in the conference.
Robbins allowed two hits, walked one and struck out three as he improved to 8-0.
The Bobcats jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first when Shelton Wallace (Northwest Rankin) singled, Erick Hoard (Brandon) walked and Tanner Huddleston (George County) got a two-run double. Jonathan Parker (New Orleans, Louisiana) reached on an infield hit and Jacob Hiatt's (Petal) sacrifice fly drove in Huddleston.
JCJC took a 6-0 lead in the second when Fred Franklin (West Lauderdale) singled, Shelton Wallace walked and Hoard hit his ninth home run of the season, an opposite field shot to right.
The Bobcats made it 7-0 in the third when Parker led off with a double and later scored on Tate Pepper's (Ocean Springs) ground out.
Jones ended the game in the fifth.
Huddleston reached on an error and Parker singled. Luther Woullard (D'Iberville) had an RBI single to left and Pepper doubled to the right-centerfield gap to drive in the final two runs.
Parker doubled and singled twice, while Hoard homered. Huddleston and Pepper each doubled with Franklin, Wallace and Woullard adding singles.
Hoard and Pepper each had three RBIs and Huddleston drove in two runs.
Ben Seay and Tyreque Reed both singled for ICC.
Steffon Moore went the distance and took the loss. He went 4 1/3 innings, allowed 10 runs (nine earned) and nine hits. He walked three and struck out seven.
