BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – Top-ranked Jones County Junior College overcame a 4-0, first inning deficit and beat Meridian, 12-4, here Tuesday afternoon at Pete Goldsby Field.
Luther Woullard (D'Iberville) slugged two home runs to spark the Bobcat comeback.
Caleb Ledet (Houma, Louisiana) had a triple,
Fred Franklin (West Lauderdale) had a pair of doubles and
Shelton Wallace (Northwest Rankin) doubled.
Jacob Hiatt (Petal) singled and drove in three runs.
Reed Michel (West Lauderdale) went the first five innings and got the win to go to 2-0 on the year. He pitched five innings, allowed four runs, five hits, walked three and struck out four.
Bryce Fagan (Petal) pitched an inning and struck out two.
Tristan Labove (Petal) tossed the seventh inning and got a strikeout.
The Bobcats scored single runs in the first and second innings and took a 6-4 lead with four runs in the fourth inning. JCJC scored six runs in the sixth inning.
Trace Jordan doubled and singled for the Eagles.
Bukhari Brown took the loss.
Meridian, 6-4, and will face Jefferson Davis (Alabama) Saturday at MGM Park in Biloxi.
