No. 1 Bobcats blast Warhawks in five innings

Box Score ELLISVILLE – The No.1 Jones County Junior College Bobcats scored four runs in the first inning and cruised to a 12-2, five inning win over Coastal Alabama in game two of a doubleheader here Tuesday evening at Community Bank Park.
JCJC took the opener, 8-1.
Fred Franklin (West Lauderdale) led off with a single, Shelton Wallace (Northwest Rankin) doubled and Franklin scored on a wild pitch. Tanner Huddleston (George County) drew a walk and Jonthan Parker (New Orleans, Louisiana) smashed a double to the wall in center to drive in two runs. Luther Woullard (D'Iberville) then had an RBI single to right-center.
The Bobcats made it 9-0 in the second inning, scoring five runs with two outs.
Wallace was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on an error. Erick Hoard (Brandon) had an infield singled and Huddleston singled. After Parker walked to load the bases, Grant Schulz (New Orleans, Louisiana) cleared them with a triple.
Coastal Alabama scored in the third inning when Harrison Moore singled, stole second and scored on Brandon Foster's double.
JCJC took a 12-1 lead in the bottom of the third.
Tate Pepper (Ocean Springs), Franklin and Wallace walked to load the bases and Miguel Morgan (South Jones) followed with a two-run double. Huddleston's ground out also drove in a run.
The Warhawks added a run in the fourth when Reilly Fox singled and later scored on a wild pitch.
Will Freeman (Semmes, Alabama) was the starter and winner. He went three innings, allowed one run, four hits, walked two and struck out four. Bryce Fagan (Petal) pitched the final two innings. He gave up an unearned run, three hits, walked two and struck out four.
Schulz tripled, singled and drove in three runs, while Parker and Morgan each doubled and had two RBIs. Wallace had a double with Franklin, Hoard, Huddleston and Woullard adding singles.
Blake Carnley pitched the first 2 1/3 innings, allowed 12 runs (11 earned), eight hits, walked five and struck out one. Brett Weeks and Max Moore also pitched for Coastal Alabama.
Harrison Moore singled twice for the Warhawks, while Foster doubled. Bryan Todd Seymore, Saulnier, Jakob Bates and Fox added singles.
The Bobcats, 4-0, will host Mineral Area College (Missouri) in a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday. Both games will air on www.jcjc.tv.
Coastal Alabama, 2-4, meets Calhoun Community College (Alabama) in Andalusia, Alabama, on Friday.
