ELLISVILLE – No. 1 Jones County Junior College used a four-run first inning en route to an 8-3 victory over Southwest Tennessee here Friday afternoon at Community Bank Park in game two of a doubleheader.
JCJC took game one, 6-2.
JCJC, 2-0, will return home for a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday vs. Jefferson Davis Community College (Alabama). Both games will air on

Southwest Tennessee, 0-6, heads to D'Iberville to play Mississippi Gulf Coast at noon on Saturday. The Saluqis opened the season by losing four games at LSU-Eunice last weekend.
JCJC got off to a quick start in game two.
Fred Franklin (West Lauderdale) led off with a walk and one out later,
Erick Hoard (Brandon) smashed an opposite field, two-run home run over the rightfield wall.
Tanner Huddleston (George County) drew a walk and Jonathan Parker (New Orleans, Louisiana) followed with a single. Craig Schulz's (Mereaux, Louisiana) groundout scored Huddleston and Luther Woullard (D'Iberville) followed with an RBI single.
JCJC took a 5-0 lead in the second inning when Franklin doubled with one out, took third on a wild pitch and scored a sacrifice fly to center by
Shelton Wallace (Northwest Rankin).
The Bobcats went up 7-0 in the fourth.
Woullard reached on an error to start the inning and with two outs, Franklin drew a walk. Wallace then triple into the rightfield corner to score both runners.
Jones took an 8-0 lead in the fifth when Huddleston led off with a double off the centerfield wall, went to third on a passed ball and scored on Parker's sacrifice fly to right.
Southwest Tennessee scored all of its runs in the sixth inning.
Stallings singled, Barrett Taylor walked and Nobles singled to load the bases. Andrew Miller walked to force a run home and Taylor scored on a wild pitch. Hank McKay then delivered an RBI single.
Logan Robbins (George County), 1-0, started, pitched five strong innings and posted the win. Robbins allowed no runs, three hits and struck out two.
Zach Taylor (Brandon) pitched to four batters and did not record an out.
Tristan Labove (Petal) tossed the final two innings, allowing two hits and striking out one.
Huddleston doubled and singled for Jones, while Hoard homered and Wallace tripled and drove in three runs. Franklin had a double with Parker and Woullard getting singles.
Houston Haag was the starter and loser for Southwest Tennessee. He gave up eight runs (six earned), walked two and struck out two. Ben Kirby pitched an inning and got a strikeout.
Stallings had three singles for the Saluquis. McKay singled twice and Estrada and Nobles added singles.
