Box Score BREWTON, Alabama –
Mason Irby led off the top of the seventh inning with his second home run of the game to break an 8-8 tie and help Jones County Junior College to a 10-8 victory over Jefferson Davis Community College (Alabama) here Thursday afternoon in game one of a doubleheader.
The game was back and forth throughout before the Bobcats finally prevailed.
Jeff Davis led 3-2 after one inning and the game was tied 4-4 after two. JCJC was up 5-4 after three and trailed 7-6 after four and 8-7 after five. The Bobcats tied it in the sixth.
Irby had two solo home runs to give him five for the season.
Erick Hoard homered, singled and drove in three runs, while
Clint Sasser doubled and singled.
Jonathan Parker had a triple with
John Alan Wall and
Fred Franklin adding singles.
Mason Strickland, 1-0, pitched the final four innings and got the win. He allowed four runs (one earned), six hits, walked one and struck out four. Starter
