ELLISVILLE – Eighth-ranked Jones County Junior College won a wild one over Copiah-Lincoln Community College in game one of a doubleheader here Wednesday afternoon at Community Bank Park.
The Bobcats trailed 12-8 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but then outscored the Wolves 12-1 the rest of the way and posted a 20-13 decision. The two teams combined for 33 runs, 41 hits and eight errors.
JCJC improved to 17-8 overall and 4-5 in the MACJC, while Co-Lin dropped to 8-13 and 1-6.
The heroes on offense were plenty for the Bobcats.
Rightfielder
John Alan Wall had five singles and five RBIs, third baseman
Dylan Manichia homered, doubled, singled and drove in five runs, centerfield
Chris Morgan homered, tripled, singled and had three RBIs and catcher
Mason Irby had a double, two singles and three RBIs.
Co-Lin jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Jeremy Moore walked, Adrian Brown reached on an error and Choc Hubbard had an RBI single. Wesley Watts singled, Garrett Goodwin had an RBI single and Austin Resser had a two-run single.
The Bobcats scored a run in the bottom of the first with two outs.
Carter Polles singled and Irby doubled him home.
Co-Lin made it 5-1 in the second when Moore and Brown singled, Hubbard walked to load the bases and Watts drew a bases loaded walk.
The Bobcats scored in the bottom of the second. Manichia reached on an error and later scored on another error to make it 5-2.
The Wolves got a run in the third when Jordan Antley reached on an error and scored on a single by Moore.
The Bobcats cut the lead to 6-5 in the bottom of the third.
Clint Sasser led off with a double and Irby singled. Wall had an RBI single and Manichia had a two-run double.
Co-Lin went up 7-5 in the fourth. Hubbard was hit by a pitch, was sacrificed to second and scored on a single by Resser.
The Bobcats responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning to take an 8-7 lead.

Co-Lin then tied it at 8-8 in the fifth when Antley reached on an infield single and scored on Brown's double.
The Wolves then went ahead 12-8 in the seventh.
Brown walked, Reed Taylor reached on an infield single and Hubbard followed with an RBI single. Watts then had a two-run double, took third on a groundout and scored on Resser's infield single.
JCJC then sent 11 batters to the plate and scored seven runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 15-12 lead.
Wall and
Tyler Schankin led off with singles and Manichia followed with a three-run home run over the leftfield wall to make it 12-11.
Chris Richardson reached on an error and was sacrificed to second by
Daniel Goff.
Morgan then launched a deep drive off the wall in centerfield. The ball bounced away from the outfielders and Morgan circled the bases for an inside-the-park home run to give JCJC a 13-12 lead.
Sasser then drew a walk, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on Polles' infield single. Wall then singled Polles home.
The Wolves closed the lead to 15-13 in the eighth when Moore doubled, Brown singled and Taylor's groundout scored Moore.
JCJC ended the scoring with five runs in the eighth.
Manichia reached on an error to start the inning. Richardson and Goff then loaded the bases on back-to-back bunt singles. Morgan and Polles then had RBI singles and Irby's groundout scored another run. Wall's fifth single of the game then scored two runs.
Polles had three singles for the Bobcats, while Richardson had two singles. Sasser had a double and Schankin and Goff had singles.
TJ Hollis, 1-0, pitched three innings of middle relief and got the win. He allowed five runs, six hits, walked two and struck out two.
Christian Dale pitched the final two innings and got his first save. He gave up one run, three hits and struck out one.
Polles was the starter, went 1 2/3 innings, allowed five runs (one earned), six hits and walked two.
Perry Turner pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowed two runs (one earned), three hits and walked one.
Brown doubled, singled three times and reached base in all six of his plate appearances. Moore and Resser each doubled and singled twice for Co-Lin, while Hubbard had three singles each. Watts doubled and singled, with Taylor getting two singles. Antley and Goodwin had singles.
Shane Brown started, went 6 1/3 innings, allowed 12 runs (10 earned), 14 hits and struck out one. Stephen Barnett pitched 2/3 of an inning and took the loss. He allowed six runs, six hits and struck out one. Watts pitched an inning, allowed two runs and two hits.
