JACKSON – After three straight dominating starts in MACCC play, freshman hurler Madison Sawyer has been voted the conference's pitcher of the week for a second time in her career.

The Satsuma (Ala.) High School product is 13-1 on the season with 11 complete games, three shutouts and a 1.95 ERA.

Her last three starts have been a two-hit shutout at No. 1 Pearl River – the first time they had been shut out all year – a two-hitter at Southwest and no-hitter against Holmes on Saturday.

She was 2-0 last week with 16 strikeouts, five hits and two earned runs allowed in 13 innings.

Sawyer and the Bobcats host Mississippi Gulf Coast Tuesday at 4 o'clock.
