Bobcats to learn of postseason opener Monday on NJCAA Network

Tune into NJCAA.org/Network at 5 p.m.

ELLISVILLE – The three-time defending NJCAA Region 23 Men's Basketball Champion Jones College Bobcats will learn of their postseason fate on Monday.

The NJCAA Division I Selection Show is set for 5 p.m. CST on NJCAA.org/Network

The NJCAA Division I Tournament runs March 21-28 at the historic Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kansas. Tickets are available online at njcaa.org/tickets.

Jones, 24-9, earned the Gulf District's automatic bid after defeating No. 25 Itawamba, 102-96 in overtime, on Thursday in Fulton.

Fifth-year head coach Newton Mealer has guided the Bobcats to a 115-39 overall (.747) record and three consecutive NJCAA Region 23 titles after the program had only won two from 1949 until his hiring.

Jones is 6-3 all-time in Hutch and looking for its first win since the 2017 NJCAA Tournament. They are the only Mississippi team to win it all, doing so in the 2013-14 season.

Jones will host a Selection Show Watch Party Monday beginning at 4 p.m. at A.B. Howard Gymnasium and the invitation is open to the public. The team will cut down the nets, enjoy some food and then gather to watch the unveiling of the 24-team bracket at 5 p.m.

All games will be streamed live on ESPN+, with the national championship game airing on ESPNU on Saturday, March 28, at 3:00 pm CT.
