Makynlie Jones receives second straight Rawlings Gold Glove Award

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Jones College right fielder Makynlie Jones continues to rake in postseason accolades.

Jones received an NFCA NJCAA Division II Rawlings Gold Glove Award earlier this week, her second straight, and is one of four players to receive the award in consecutive years.

Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc. revealed the 27 recipients of the 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Award®, presented by the NFCA, on Wednesday afternoon. The award recognizes nine student-athletes from each of the NJCAA Division I, II and III memberships.

Jones is the third straight right fielder from Jones to receive the award, with Aaliyah Dixon taking home the honor in 2023.

Jones registered 65 chances with 62 putouts, two assists and one error for a .985 fielding percentage.

The Vardaman native and Northwestern State signee has previously been named the NFCA NJCAA Division II  Player of the Year, MACCC Player of the Year, NJCAA Division II First Team All-American, First Team All-MACCC and NJCAA All-Region 23.

Recipients of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award, presented by the NFCA, were selected by the NFCA's NJCAA Division I & II All-America Committees, following regional voting to identify the finalists at each position. In NJCAA Division III, the head coach membership voted for the winners.

The groups utilized fielding statistics and school-submitted video to closely examine finalists and select the winners at every defensive position. Any student-athlete that competed in the current championship year and was nominated by their head coach who is a member in good standing with the NFCA was eligible for consideration for this prestigious honor.

Twenty programs were represented in total with six programs earning multiple Gold Glove honors. NJCAA DIII national champion North Dakota State College of Science topped all programs with three recipients. Also grabbing multiple nods in Division III were national runner-up Patrick & Henry Community College and St. Cloud Technical College with two apiece. In Division I, Chipola College, national runner-up Florida SouthWestern State College and McLennan Community College each had two Gold Gloves.
