CHARLOTTE – Three Jones College softball players have been named 2025 NJCAA Division II All-Americans, a 14th consecutive season with at least one Bobcat on the team.
Emily Mizelle and
Makynlie Jones were named to the NJCAA First Team and
Jayden Sawyer was selected as Third Team.
Mizelle, a sophomore third baseman from Baker High School in Mobile, Ala., batted an MACCC-best .482 with 23 home runs, 15 doubles, 88 RBIs and a 1.444 OPS. She scored 66 runs, drew 25 walks and had eight stolen bases.
She was also named First Team All-MACCC, NFCA All-South Region and NJCAA All-Region 23 and is a two-time NFCA All-American.
Jones, a sophomore outfielder from Vardaman, batted .445 with 19 doubles, three triples, 26 home runs and a division-leading 103 RBIs. She led the MACCC and was second in Division II in home runs. She was third nationally in total bases (205) and seventh in plate appearances (246) and hits (102).
She was also named the NFCA Division II Player of the Year, the MACCC Player of the Year, First Team All-MACCC and NJCAA All-Region 23.
Sawyer was selected to the team as a pitcher even though she was a top-flight dual player. She was both an NFCA and NJCAA First Team All-American as a freshman.
The sophomore from Mary G. Montgomery High School in Mobile, Ala., was 14-4 with a 2.95 ERA. In 122.0 innings pitched, she allowed 79 hits, walked 52 and struck out 182. She was named Most Outstanding Pitcher in the 2025 NJCAA Division II World Series. She batted .316 with six doubles, 16 home runs and 51 RBIs.
This trio helped Jones to a 52-10 record, Region 23 championship and runner-up finish in the Division II World Series this past season.
