AUSTIN, Texas – Two Jones College players have been named to the 2024-25 Academic All-America® Women's At-Large Team as selected by College Sports Communicators.
It is the highest academic honor a student-athlete can get from any national organization. They become two of only 13 all-time CSC Academic All-America® selections from Jones.
Emily Mizelle from softball and
Molly Bennett from women's tennis were both named to the First Team.
Mizelle had a 3.76 GPA in kinesiology.
The Mobile, Ala., native led the MACCC with a .482 batting average in 2025. She had 23 home runs, 15 doubles, 88 RBIs and a 1.444 OPS. She scored 66 runs, drew 25 walks and had eight stolen bases.
She was named NJCAA First Team All-American, All-MACCC, NFCA All-South Region and NJCAA All-Region 23 and is a two-time NFCA All-American.
She helped the Bobcats to a 52-10 record this past season and a runner-up finish in the NJCAA Division II World Series. The Bobcats went 91-25 in Mizelle's two seasons and won two Region 23 championships.
Bennett had a 3.69 GPA in veterinary technology.
The Madison Central High School product was an NJCAA Division I and ITA Second Team All-American in 2025. Bennett teamed with
Helen Hernandez to become the first Jones and MACCC doubles team to reach the finals of the NJCAA Division I Tournament.
Bennett and Hernandez went 25-2 in No. 1 doubles and were ranked No. 2 in the final ITA rankings. Bennett went 24-4 in singles during her two years at Jones.
Bennett, a Mississippi College signee, helped Jones to MACCC and Region 23 championships in 2024-25 and was 39-0 record in dual matches over the past two seasons.
Both players were earlier named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
