ELLISVILLE – Six Jones College Bobcats have been named to the All-MACCC Baseball Team.
 
Relief pitcher Caden Freeman made the first team. Designated hitter TJ Dunsford, pitcher Andrew Marble and outfielder Braden Smith made the second team. Catcher Cole Manuel and infielder Chase Russell were honorable mention.
 
Freeman, a freshman right-hander from Marshall Academy, shined out of the bullpen. He led the MACCC and tied for first in NJCAA Division II with nine saves. In 22.2 innings, he had a sterling 0.79 ERA, allowing only 12 hits and two earned runs. Freeman walked 14 and struck out 16. Opponents only batted .174 against him.
 
Dunsford, a sophomore from Grand Bay, Ala., batted .356 with six home runs and 32 RBIs. He led the team in hits with 62, runs scored with 49 and doubles with 15.
 
Marble, a sophomore right-hander from East Central, went 5-1 with a 2.60 ERA in 12 starts. He led team with 65.2 innings pitched, allowing 47 hits, 18 walks and punching out 83. He had a WHIP of .99 and opponents only batted .198 against him. 
 
Smith, a sophomore from Brandon, batted .307 with a team-leading nine home runs and 43 RBIs. He had 11 doubles and a team-leading three triples. He led the team in slugging percentage at .595 and tied for the team-lead in walks with 31.
 
Manuel, a sophomore from Clinton, batted .293 with six home runs and 38 RBIs. He had eight doubles and was hit by a pitch 27 times. Manuel was a stalwart behind the plate with a .987 fielding percentage, 31 assists and 14 runners caught stealing. As a pitcher, he went 7.0 innings, allowed no runs, two hits, walked four and struck out seven. 
 
Russell, a freshman from Madison Central, led the team with a .372 batting average. He had five home runs, 33 RBIs, six doubles, a .535 slugging percentage and led the team with a .503 on-base percentage. 
 
The Bobcats went 35-15 and tied for second in the MACCC with a 20-8 record.
