ELLISVILLE – First-year head coach
Tori Dew has announced the newest addition to the Jones College softball staff.
Drew Fiala, who has served as Raleigh High School head coach for the past two seasons, will now be a Bobcat assistant coach.
Fiala, who graduated with honors from West Jones High School in 2015, was a manager for the Bobcat softball team for the 2016-17 seasons. He then went to Southern Miss and served as a manager in 2018-19.
While serving as a manager at both schools, Fiala caught bullpens, hit fungo for the coaches, worked with hitters and helped with field maintenance. He received his bachelor's degree from Southern Miss in 2020 in sports coaching education.
Fiala was a graduate assistant at Jones in 2020 where he helped Dew with hitters.
His first full-time coaching job was as an assistant coach at West Jones in 2021.
During Fiala's two seasons at Raleigh, the Lions were 38-19-1 and won Region 6-3A both times.
