No. 4 Bobcats begin Region 23 Tournament play on Wednesday

ELLISVILLE – Fourth-ranked Jones College still has numerous goals left to attain this season.
 
The Bobcats begin play in the Region 23 Tournament at Lady Wolves Field on the campus of Copiah-Lincoln Community College this week.
 
Jones College (43-10) is seeded No. 3 and will meet No. 4 seed Northeast (31-20) at noon Wednesday. No. 2 seed LSU Eunice (32-18) faces No. 5 seed Northwest (31-13) at 2:30 p.m. and top-seed Co-Lin (41-8) plays No. 6 seed Itawamba (38-9) at 5 p.m.
 
The double-elimination tournament continues through Saturday with the top two teams advancing to the NJCAA Division II World Series May 24-28 in Oxford, Alabama.
 
Jones went 4-2 in last week's MACCC Tournament at Community Bank Park/Gwen Magee Field and finished second to Co-Lin.
 
This week's tournament features five nationally ranked teams: Jones is No. 4, Co-Lin is No. 5, Itawamba is No. 6, LSU Eunice is No. 8 and Northwest is No. 13.
 
Tickets are $10 for each day (cash or check only) and children under 12 are admitted free.
