ELLISVILLE – Jones College placed six players in double figures as they cruised to a 134-61 victory over Royal Ambassadors here Monday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
Calvin Temple (Center Hill) led Jones with 34 points and
Decorian Payton (Center Hill) had 19 points and 14 boards.
Kaeden Laws (Center Hill) added 18,
Caleb McGill (Petal) had 17,
Kyron Pleas (Olive Branch) had 12 and
Jabari Bowman (Warren Central) finished with 10 and 10.
Rickendrick Johnson had 28 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Royal Ambassadors.
The Bobcats led 29-18 with 7:43 left in the opening half before going on a 32-10 run to take a 61-28 halftime lead.
A McGill 3-pointer made it 77-34 with 15:00 to play and a Temple drive in the lane put Jones up 100-44 with 9:55 remaining.
Jones shot 50 percent from the floor while holding the Lions to 37 percent.
The Bobcats (3-0) will travel to Baton Rouge Community College for a 4 p.m. game on Saturday. Jones' game with William Carey University Junior Varsity, originally set for Nov. 15, has been canceled.
The next home game for the Bobcats will be Nov. 22 vs. Coahoma.
