High School: Played for coach Newton Mealer at Center Hill...a four-year starter for the Mustangs with the team posting a 100-31 record...averaged 17.8 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals per game...holds school record for most career rebounds (890), blocked shots (244) and is the second all-time leading scorer in school history (1,616 points)...led the state in blocked shots (90) during his senior year...was a 2021 McDonald's All-American nominee and was Most Valuable Player of the MAC All-Star game...during each season of his high school career, he was named to All-State and/or All-Metro teams by media outlets, such as the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, Daily Memphian, Capital Sports and the Memphis Commercial Appeal...all-district performer during all four years of high school...made the game-winning shot to win the 5A state championship for the Mustangs in 2019...team was runner-up in 2020...originally signed with Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
