No. 2 Jones College opens play in national tournament Monday

WICHITA, Kansas – The No. 2 Jones College Bobcats will be aiming for a national championship in women's soccer next week.
 
Head coach Dolores Deasley's team will compete in the NJCAA Division II Tournament Nov. 15-20 at the Stryker Complex in Wichita, Kansas.
 
The Bobcats, 14-1, are the No. 2 seed in the tournament and will head Pool B. Jones faces No. 11 Northeast (Nebraska) at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 and No. 7 seed Muskegon (Michigan) at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 17.
 
Jones has won 14 matches in a row, while its opening opponent, Northeast, is riding a 12-game winning streak with six straight shutouts.
 
If Jones wins its pool, they advance to the semifinals on Nov. 19. The national championship game is slated for 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 20.
 
It is the second time for Jones to appear in the national tournament within six months. The Bobcats advanced to the semifinals in June in Evans, Georgia.
 
The winner of Pool B will meet the winner of Pool C in the semifinals. Pool C consists of No. 3 Waubonsee (Illinois), No. 6 Phoenix (Arizona) and No. 10 Sussex County (New Jersey).
 
On the opposite side of the bracket, Pool A features top-seed Heartland (Illinois), No. 8 South Suburban (Illinois) and No. 12 Cape Fear (North Carolina).
 
Pool D consists of No. 4 Pima (Arizona), No. 5 Holmes and No. 9 seed Southwestern Illinois.
 
All matches in the tournament will air at njcaa.org/network. A day pass is $10 and a tournament pass is $25.
