ELLISVILLE – The No. 17 Jones College Lady Bobcats blanked Itawamba 9-0 here Friday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex/Bobcat Tennis Courts.
The Lady Bobcats had little trouble in defeating ICC.
In No. 1 doubles,
Mireia Jordan (Spain) and
Ariadna Jordan (Spain) whipped Julianna Alves and Maggie Creekmore, 8-1. In No. 2 doubles,
Kaitlyn Craig (Petal) and
Dixie Lei Hodges (Laurel Christian School) downed Kaitlyn Meadows and Farrah Fowlkes, 9-7. In No. 3 doubles,
Danielle Viljoen (Jackson) and
Judith Mills (Pontotoc) beat Caroline Ferguson and Claire Ferguson, 8-4.
Mireia Jordan beat Alves in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-2 and
Ariadna Jordan whipped Creekmore in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Viljoen blanked Meadows in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Craig rallied past Caroline Ferguson in No. 4 singles, 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (7-3), 13-11. Hodges beat Fowlkes in No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-4 and Milles defeated Riley Crouch in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 8-6.
The Lady Bobcats, 7-1, will host Blue Mountain College at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Itawamba, 1-5, travels to Mississippi Gulf Coast Saturday.
