GOODMAN – The top-ranked Jones College Lady Bobcats had a big day here Wednesday.
Freshman pitcher
Lauren Stringer (Taylorsville) tossed a five-inning perfect game as the Lady Bobcats won game two, 21-0.
In game one, Jones posted a 12-1, five-inning decision.
That victory marked the 400
thwin for head coach
Chris Robinson during his tenure as head coach of the Lady Bobcats. Robinson is 401-98 in his 10 years as head coach.
Jones is now 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the MACJC and has won nine games in a row – eight via the 'run rule.'
The Lady Bobcats will now head to Columbus, Georgia, where they will participate in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Leadoff Classic. Jones faces Kirkwood (Iowa) and Indian River (Florida) on Friday and Northwest Florida State on Saturday in pool play. They will play at least two more games after that.
Holmes, 0-11 and 0-2, goes to Coastal Alabama-South on Thursday.

Winning pitcher
Hallie Donald (Mooreville) homered, singled and had two RBIs. She is now 6-0 on the season.

Donald tossed four innings, allowing one run, four hits, no walks and recording a strikeout. Kaleigh Crutchfield (Conway, Arkansas) pitched an inning and got a strikeout.
Skyler Busbea, Teagun Barnes, Katie Dana and Jolie Smith singled for Holmes.
Mary Clayton Burrell went the distance and took the loss, allowing 12 runs, 14 hits, four walks and three strikeouts.
Jones led 3-0 after one inning, 5-0 after three and 8-1 after four.

Stringer had four strikeouts and threw only 50 pitches as she improved to 2-1.
Offensively, Jones banged out 27 hits.
Trammell, the leadoff batter, had two home runs and drove in three runs.
DiLavore homered and doubled with Sikes and
Raven Blackwell each getting a home run and a single.
Hailey Weems (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) doubled twice and singled and
Raylen Blackwell doubled, singled and had three RBIs.
Kayla Collins (East Central), McCleskey and
Carlee Nations each doubled and singled.

Shelbie Phillips (Mooreville),
Chasity Jordan (Perry Central) and Singleterry each had two singles.
Raven Blackwell and Denton added singles.
Brooklyn Eubanks pitched 3.2 innings, allowed 13 runs, 14 hits, walked one and took the loss. Katie Davis pitched 3.2 innings, allowed eight runs and 13 hits.
Jones led 8-0 after an inning, 13-0 after two and 14-0 after three.
