No. 18 Lady Bobcats defeat No. 17 Co-Lin and Wallace St. (Alabama)

ELLISVILLE – The No. 18 Jones College women's tennis team enjoyed a good day here Saturday at the Howard Sports Complex/Bobcat Tennis Courts.
The Lady Bobcats defeated No. 17 Copiah-Lincoln 7-2 and Wallace St. (Alabama), 8-1, to improve their season's record to 12-1.
Jones will be back in action with a 2 p.m. Monday match at home vs. Holmes.
On Monday, Co-Lin hosts Southwest and Wallace St. plays at Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Jones won two of the three doubles points.
Mireia Jordan (Spain) and Ariadna Jordan (Spain) beat Paula Coronado and Carmen Manicea, 8-5, in No. 1 doubles. Danielle Viljoen (Jackson) and Judith Mills (Pontotoc) defeated Madison Shows and McKenzie Shows in No. 3 doubles, 8-6. Kaitlyn Craig (Petal) and Dixie Lei Hodges (Laurel Christian School) dropped an 8-1 decision to Katy Clark and Kathy Clark in No. 2 doubles.
Ariadna Jordan rallied past Manicea in No. 2 singles, 3-6, 6-1, 10-8. Viljoen whipped Katy Clark 6-0, 6-3 in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-3. Craig edged Kara Clark in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 and Hodges outlasted Ashlyn Locke in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 5-7, 10-4. Mills beat Faith Bergeron in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
Coronado edge Mireia Jordan in No. 1 singles, 3-6, 6-2, 10-7.
Co-Lin, 9-2, hosts Southwest on Monday.

The Lady Bobcats won all of the doubles points.
Mireia Jordan and Ariadna Jordan beat Nicole Barron and Maggie Taylor in No. 1 doubles, 8-4. Craig and Hodges defeated Mary Ann Wolfe and Emily Perry in No. 2 doubles, 8-5. Viljoen and Mills downed Haley Putnam and Crissy Cruz in No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
Mireia Jordan beat Barron in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0 and Ariadna Jordan downed Perry in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Viljoen defeated Putnam in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-4. Hodges downed Kailee Upchurch in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-3 and Mills defeated Cruz in No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-4. Craig lost to Taylor in No. 4 singles, 6-7 (6-8), 1-6.
Wallace St., 5-9, goes to Mississippi Gulf Coast on Monday.
