ELLISVILLE – The No. 25 Jones College Lady Bobcats defeated Blue Mountain College 6-3 here Saturday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex/Bobcat Tennis Courts.
Jones won two of the doubles points.
Kaitlyn Craig (Petal) and
Dixie Lei Hodges (Laurel Christian School) defeated Piper Johnson and Emily Standard in No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
Danielle Viljoen (Jackson) and
Judith Mills (Pontotoc) beat Attie Finley and
Mattie Mills in No. 3 doubles, 8-5. In No. 1 doubles,
Mireia Jordan (Spain) and
Ariadna Jordan (Spain) lost 6-8 to Mariana Alvarez and Tatiana Quinonez.
Ariadna Jordan beat Johnson in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1 and Viljoen defeated Quinonez in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-2. Hodges outlasted
Mattie Mills in No. 5 singles, 7-6, 1-6, 10-5 and
Judith Mills blanked Finley in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Mireia Jordan lost to Alvarez in No. 1 singles, 2-6, 0-6 and Craig lost to Emilee Seegraves in No. 4 singles, 2-6, 1-6.
Jones, 7-1, will travel Holmes for a 2:30 p.m. match on March 18.
BMC goes to Texas Lutheran on Monday.
