No. 1 Lady Bobcats score 35 runs in run-rule sweep

ELLISVILLE – There is no place like home for the top-ranked Jones College Lady Bobcats.
Jones made its home debut Monday at Community Bank Park and posted a pair of run-rule wins.
In the first game of the day, LP Trammell (Germantown) and Faith Denton (Northwest Rankin) each had five RBIs as Jones whipped East Central 17-7 in five innings. Later, Raylen Blackwell (St. Patrick) drove in four runs as the Lady Bobcats whipped East Mississippi, 18-5.
Jones, 4-2, will travel to Baton Rouge Community for a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday.
No. 1 Jones 17, East Central 7
Jones led 6-0 after one inning, 11-0 after two, 12-0 after three and 17-0 after four. ECCC scored seven runs in the top of the fifth.
Trammell had two doubles and scored twice and Kayla Collins (East Central) had a double, a single and scored two runs. Winning pitcher Hallie Donald (Mooreville) homered, had three RBIs and scored three runs. Blackwell, Denton and Gracie McCleskey (Caledonia) each doubled with Chasity Jordan (Perry Central), McKennah Sikes (Van Buren, Arkansas) and Rebekah DiLavore (Ocala, Florida) getting singles. Sikes scored a pair of runs.
Donald allowed three runs (one earned), four hits, walked six and struck out six. She is now 3-0 on the season. Kaleigh Crutchfield allowed four runs, one hit and walked three.
Anna McNeer belted a grand slam and a single for ECCC. Hannah Dufault, Annika Jones and Parker Breland singled for the Lady Warriors.
Starter Brooklyn King took the loss. She allowed 12 earned runs, seven hits, walked six and struck out one in three innings. Jasalyn Jarrette pitched an inning, allowed five runs (one earned), four hits, and walked one.

Collins homered, singled, drove in two runs and scored twice and Raylen Blackwell doubled and singled to get her four RBIs.
DiLavore, Sikes and Trammell added doubles with Raven Blackwell (St. Patrick), Hailey Weems (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) and Mollie Singleterry (Wayne County) adding singles.  
Lauren Stringer (Taylorsville) went the distance and got the win. She allowed five earned runs, seven hits, walked two and struck out seven. Stringer is 1-1 on the year.
Kelsey English doubled and singled for EMCC and Blake Bond singled twice. Kathryn Reeves, Mackenzie Dolan and Riley Huckaby added singles.
Madelyn Wilkes went 3.2 innings and got the loss. She allowed 18 runs (11 earned), 10 hits, walked 12 and struck out two. Britney Bonney went.1 innings and allowed no hits.
Jones led 4-1 after one inning, 10-1 after two, 13-1 after three and 18-1 after four. EMCC scored four runs in the fifth.
