No. 22 Lady Wolves edge No. 17 Lady Bobcats, 5-4

WESSON – The No. 22 Copiah-Lincoln Community College Lady Wolves edged No. 17 Jones College, 5-4, here Thursday afternoon in a hard-fought match.
Co-Lin took two doubles' points and the teams split the singles' matches.
Ariadna Jordan (Spain) beat Carmen Manicea in No. 2 singles, 6-3, 7-6. Danielle Viljoen (Jackson) defeated Kara Clark in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-3. Judith Mills (South Pontotoc) downed Faith Bergeron in No. 6 singles, 6-2, 7-6 (7-2).
Paula Coronado defeated Mireia Jordan (Spain) in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-1. Katy Clark beat Kaitlyn Craig (Petal) in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0. In No. 5 singles, Ashlynn Locke downed Dixie Lei Hodges, 6-3, 6-4.
Viljoen and Mills claimed No. 3 doubles over Madison Shows and McKenzie Shows, 8-4. Coronado and Manicea edged Jordan and Jordan in No. 1 doubles, 8-6. Clark and Clark beat Craig and Hodges in No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
Jones, 1-1, will meet Mississippi Gulf Coast at 2 p.m. Tuesday in its home opener.
Co-Lin, 3-0, hosts Meridian on Friday.
