ELLISVILLE – The Jones College Bobcats will be headed to the NJCAA district playoffs for the second straight year.
Jones will be competing Nov. 8-9 in the NJCAA Gulf South District playoffs at LSU Eunice.
Jones dropped a 4-0 decision at No. 5 LSU Eunice on Nov. 1 in the Region 23 championship game. The Bengals led 1-0 at halftime and put the contest away with three second half goals.
The Bobcats, as the Region 23 runner-up, will face No. 6 Tyler (Texas), the Region 14 champion, at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 in the semifinals. LSU Eunice meets Region 14 runner-up Northeast College (Texas) 14 at 2 p.m. on Nov. 8.
The two winners meet for the district championship at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 9.
The winner of the district tournament advances to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament Nov. 18-23 in Tyler, Texas.
Jones enters the tournament at 12-5-1, LSUE is 15-1, Tyler is 16-4 and Northeast is also 16-4.
