ENTERPRISE, Ala. – The Jones College men's soccer team remained unbeaten Tuesday night with a 5-2 road victory over Enterprise State at Bates Memorial Stadium.
The Bobcats scored three times in the opening 27 minutes and carried a 3-1 advantage into halftime before adding two more goals in the second half to improve to 5-0-1 on the season.
FIRST HALF
Jones wasted little time getting on the board. Stanley Georgiou (Ampthill, England; Pro:Direct Hitchin) converted a penalty kick in the fourth minute to give the Bobcats an early 1-0 lead.
Braden Buchanan (Madison; Madison Central) doubled the advantage in the 24th minute by chasing down an errant pass and slotting by the keeper. Calvin Harrison (Hernando) struck just three minutes later with Buchanan providing the assist by playing Harrison through for an easy one-on-one with keeper as Jones quickly pushed its lead to 3-0.
Enterprise State (0-5) answered in the 31st minute through an AJ Bon-Jorno screamer into the top 90, sending Jones into halftime with a 3-1 advantage.
The Bobcats controlled the attacking numbers in the opening half, outshooting Enterprise State 16-3.
SECOND HALF
Jones restored its three-goal cushion in the 70th minute when Harrison scored his second goal of the night by rocketing the ball passed the keeper to make it 4-1.
Enterprise State pulled one back six minutes later on a goal from Axel Gomez the slid just underneath the Jones keeper, but the Bobcats answered again in the 80th minute when Georgiou finished off a long throw-in from Rob Bradley (Madison; Madison Central) for his second goal of the match, closing out the scoring at 5-2.
Jones continued to apply pressure throughout the second half, finishing the match with a 29-6 advantage in total shots and a 21-2 edge in shots on goal. The Bobcats also held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Georgiou and Harrison each finished with two goals to lead the Jones attack.
Buchanan added a goal and an assist while putting four of his six shots on frame.
Mario Novaku (Wolverhampton, England; Codsall Community HS) put all four of his attempts on goal, while Kinson Smith (Brandon; Northwest Rankin) added three shots with two on target.

The Bobcats return home Thursday, Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. against Dyersburg State.
