ELLISVILLE – Six different Bobcats scored in a 6-1 victory over Georgia Military College Sunday afternoon as No. 7 Jones College stayed unbeaten on the year.
Five of the six goal-scorers netted their first of the season and Jones (4-0) remained unbeaten in five all-time meetings against the Bulldogs (1-2).
Calvin Harrison scored 4:07 into the match, his second of the season, and
Braden Buchanan followed 1:25 later to make it 2-0.
The goals kept coming as
Dillon Watson scored his first of the year in the 26th minute and
Sam Rogers his first collegiate goal 57 seconds later.
Daniel Cazacu got GMC on the board just before the halftime horn to make it 4-1 at the break.
Stanley Georgiou and
Louie Fitzpatrick scored in the 65th and 83rd minutes to cap the scoring.
The stat sheet was evenly matched but the final score was not. JC held a 16-14 shot advantage, both had five corners each and the Bulldogs had six saves against five for Jones.
Logan Correro had four saves in 66:53 before giving way to
Aiden Reiter the rest of the way who had one save.
Jones is on the road the next two matches against No. 5 Northeast (Neb.) and Enterprise State before returning home Sept. 10 to host Dyersburg State.
