ELLISVILLE – Fourth-ranked Jones County Junior College will be aiming for its third straight state championship this weekend.

Chris Robinson's Lady Bobcats will compete in the MACJC Tournament May 4-6 on the campus of Itawamba Community College in Fulton.
JCJC, 43-3, faces No. 11 East Central, 34-10, at 6 p.m. on Friday. No. 3 Itawamba, 39-7, meets Pearl River, 26-18, at 4 p.m. in the tournament opener.
The two winners meet at 1 p.m. on Saturday and the two losers play at 3 p.m. Saturday. Another elimination game takes place at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The championship game is slated for 1 p.m. Sunday with an if necessary game to follow.
The top three teams in the tournament will advance to the Region 23 Tournament May 10-12 at a site to be determined.
The top two teams in the region tournament advance to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament May 16-19 at Traceway Park in Clinton.
JCJC, winners of five of the last six MACJC championships, advanced to the state tournament by sweeping Mississippi Gulf Coast 5-2 and 4-1 in an MACJC Best-of-3 playoff series last week.
