MERIDIAN –
Madison Burge (Harrison Central) allowed just one earned run in 5.1 innings as No. 6 Jones County completed a sweep of Meridian Community College with a 6-1 victory here Tuesday afternoon in game two.
JCJC won game one, 9-4.
The Lady Bobcats are now 35-3 overall and 22-2 in the MACJC.
Burge allowed four hits, walked two and struck out two as she improved to 11-1.
Karli Perque (Westwego, Louisiana) pitched 2.2 innings, allowed no runs, two hits, walked one and struck out three.
Emily Robinson (Lafayette) had four singles for the Lady Bobcats.
Taylor Murray (Parklane Academy) homered, singled and drove in three runs, while
Simone McKinney (Harrison Central) had two singles.
Nancy Williams (Southeast Lauderdale) had a triple with
Callie Venable (Clinton, Louisiana) and
Gracie McCleskey (Caledonia) adding singles.
Michaela Banks doubled for MCC. Reagon Autmon, Jayla Poindexter, Chandler Moore, Aahilya Jones and Taylor Perilloux added singles.
Kaitlyn Parrish went 2.2 innings, allowed two runs (one earned), three hits, walked four, struck out two and took the loss for MCC.
JCJC hosts Baton Rouge Community College (Louisiana) in a 3 p.m. doubleheader Friday. Both games will air on

Meridian, 9-22 overall and 5-18 in conference play goes to Coahoma Friday.
