ELLISVILLE – The No. 15 Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats defeated No. 22 Wallace St.-Hancevile (Alabama) 7-2 here Tuesday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
Jones is now 10-2 on the season.
JCJC swept the doubles points.
Twins
Mireia Jordan and
Ariadna Jordan (Spain) whipped Kelsey Wilson and Temple Ennis in No. 1 doubles, 8-1.
Beth Owen (Stone) and
Kaylee McLaurin (Laurel Christian School) beat Emily Graves and Mary Ann Wolfe in No. 2 doubles, 8-4.
August Parker (Northeast Jones) and
Brooke Cran (Wayne County) downed Molly Whitlock and Martha Ann Lucas in No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
Mireia Jordan shutout Wilson in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Ariadna Jordan blanked Graves in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Owen beat Wolfe in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Parker defeated Whitlock in No. 5 singles, 6-3, 7-5.
Ennis edged McLaurin in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8, and Wilson beat Cran in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
In an extra match,
Kaitlyn Craig (Petal) beat Lucas, 3-6, 6-1, 10-5.
Jones goes to Copiah-Lincoln for a 2 p.m. match on Thursday.
Wallace St.-Hanceville (Alabama) hosts Coastal Alabama-South on April 5.
