ELLISVILLE – The No. 15 Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats blanked Itawamba 9-0 here Saturday at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
JCJC was impressive all the way around as they improved to 8-2.
Mireia Jordan (Spain) whipped Kaitlyn Meadows in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-2.
Ariadna Jordan (Spain) shut out Bailey Gillentine in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Beth Owen (Stone) beat Madison Mayhall in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-1. In No. 4 singles,
Kaylee McLaurin (Laurel Christian School) defeated Caroline Ferguson, 6-2, 6-1. In No. 5 singles,
August Parker (Northeast Jones) beat Claire Ferguson, 6-1, 6-3.
Brooke Cran (Wayne County) downed Georgia Claire Campbell in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-4.
Jordan and Jordan downed Gillentine and Meadows in No. 1 doubles, 8-1. Owen and McLaurin beat Caroline Ferguson and Mayhall in No. 2 doubles, 8-1. Parker and Cran defeated Claire Ferguson and Liz Jimenez in No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
ICC is now 0-8 on the season.
Jones will host Meridian at 2 p.m. on Monday and Wallace St. (Alabama) at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
Itawamba hosts Mississippi Gulf Coast on Tuesday.
