WESSON – No. 1 Jones County Junior College posted its sixth straight shutout in game two of a doubleheader here Wednesday afternoon.
JCJC hit three home runs in the third inning and posted a 9-0, five-inning win over Copiah-Lincoln.
The Lady Bobcats defeated Copiah-Lincoln 8-0 in game 1.
In its previous two doubleheaders, JCJC blanked Coahoma 8-0 and 16-0 on March 9 and Holmes 5-0 and 12-0 on March 19.

Callie Venable (Clinton, Louisiana)
The Lady Bobcats put the game away with a seven-run third inning that featured three home runs.
Taylor Murray (Parklane Academy) led off the inning with a home run.
Emily Robinson (Lafayette) doubled and Venable followed with an RBI single.
Hallie Donald (Mooreville) then homered to centerfield to make it 5-0.
McKennah Sikes (Van Buren, Arkansas) then singled and
Bailey Gilbert (Sylva-Bay Academy) blasted a home to left to give Jones a 7-0 lead.
Gracie McCleskey (Caledonia) then walked, stole second and went to third on a wild pitch. She scored on a bunt by
Simone McKinney (Harrison Central).
JCJC added a run in the fourth. Venable walked, went to second on a passed ball, took third on a ground out by Donald and scored on a single by Sikes.
Madison Burge (Harrison Central) started and got the win. She went three innings, allowed two hits, walked one and struck out two as she improved to 8-0. Donald pitched the final two innings, gave up one hit and struck out two.
Sikes doubled and singled twice, while Venable had three singles. Loftin added two singles. Donald, Gilbert and Murray had home runs, Robinson doubled and McKinney singled.
The Lady Bobcats, winners of 17 straight, are now 25-1 overall and 12-0 in the MACJC. JCJC goes to Northeast Mississippi for a 4 p.m. doubleheader on Friday. Those games will air on

The Lady Bobcats will host Hinds at 4 p.m. Monday.
Co-Lin falls to 14-11 overall and 5-5 in the conference. The Lady Wolves travel to Itawamba on Friday.
